Dog Days & Frozen Margaritas Soap (Cooling Soap with Menthol)

The dog days of summer have been here in my parts, and I couldn't help but want to make a soap that would cool and refresh the body!

  Dog Days & Frozen Margaritas is made with a moderately high amount of menthol crystals to give a decent amount of cooling to the skin.  But like any menthol soaps, go easy on the more sensitive 'bits and pieces'  They will tingle more than the rest.  ;)

The scent on this soap was masterminded using a combination of essentials oils and fragrance.   The tops notes will waken you up, most notably lime, litsea, and lemon.  But when you get into the other layers of the scent you will pick up sea salt, pineapple, vanilla rum, and musk.  All combined, the scent notes will bring to mind a nice cold, Frozen Margarita.  

This is a high tallow formula (50% of the recipe) which makes it a hard bar, with a stable lasting lather.  Of course olive oil, coconut oil, and castor had to come to the party to bring some balancing fatty acids.

Each bar is a hefty 5.5 - 6 oz.

If you're wanting to keep the cooling effect going, remember to add on my Frozen Margarita Body Butter, with its own portion of menthol (a bit more gentle).   And if you're wanting the scent to linger throughout the house grab a Frozen Margarita Soy Blend Candle.

Ingredients:  Tallow, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Salt Water, Sodium Hydroxide, Castor Oil, Fragrance/Essential Oils, Menthol Crystals, Sugar, Mica.
